Mediators have held consecutive days of peace talks in Doha, Qatar.
President Donald Trump indicated that he was not planning to attack Iran after the midterm elections in the U.S. He said that he believed Iran would like to come to an agreement with the U.S., after Iranian negotiators had met with Qatari mediators in Doha for three straight days.
Vice President JD Vance also stated that there had been “a number of good conversations with the Iranians.” “Look, the president and I both feel pretty good about the prospects for potentially coming to a negotiated settlement. We’re going to keep on working at it.”
“We’re not going to allow Iran ever to have a nuclear weapon, and they understand that. They’ve understood that and they’ve said it even recently,” President Trump said, reiterating his longstanding policy objective. “If we allowed Iran to have a nuclear weapon, this country could never function in the same way. The whole world would be a different place.”
Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command, reported that the Hormuz Strait was clear of Iranian mines last week, as oil and natural gas shipments have risen to near pre-war levels.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to be discerning in his objectives and oversight of negotiations with Iranian leaders.
- For Vice President Vance and members of the U.S. diplomatic team as they support peace talks.
